Genesis

BMW R nineT scrambler; she is a gorgeous bike to look at whether she is on the move or just standing still. Before we start the review bike, let's first know what the Scrambler is.

It is a naked motorbike from Bayerische Motoren Werke, built to celebrate the 90 years of BMW Motorcycle production, with that name also referencing the epic R90S which was popular in 1973.

It is packed with the vintage values and latest tech, making it the ultimate ride for youth as well as old chaps.

Looks and Design

In terms of looks, it is R nineT so, it has the engine and looks similar to nineT series. But it has great looks from every angle you look at it. It has got the retro touch; the colour on the seat and the off-road tyres goes so good with it.

This bike is like a fashion statement, so good and retro to look at in any background. The tachometer dial is basic with speedometer fuel gauge and distance not much info given.

It is a direct show of UK customisation and quality, and customized motorbikes being popular in these days in London as well as around the world, BMW is trying to give a handcrafted quality for these showroom models. It is retro in looks as well as modern in technology, and boy, once you see it flowing through road, it is mesmerising.

Performance

Let’s talk about performance, 110 bhp is a good power for a fun bike. Even with traction control system, this bike wants to do a wheelie. With the longer suspension travel both in front and back, the ride is more smooth and comfortable.

It is a scrambler but, it’s better on road than off-road. Yes, it is good on roads even though it looks like it would manage some off-roading. But still it has got good on-road manners and it is fun to ride her over long distances.

Let’s talk about off-roading. With off-road tyres and longer suspension travel, it has been given a few off-roader characteristics but, it is not an adventure bike with which you can do good off-roading. If you take it on loose surface like sand and gravels etc. it is a fun bike to ride but not for serious off-roading, you know, no serious off-roading.

Final verdict:

Looks and design: 9/10
Specs & features: 9/10
Dynamics & performance: 8/10
Safety & quality: 8/10

Those who want a pure adventure off-roading, it is not recommended.

It is recommended for those who like retro style, power, and likes to do power slide on losing surface for fun and long distance cruising.

Toyota Yaris 2018 Review

Toyota Yaris is first of its kind in India which has been available in other countries for long. They have launched only the sedan model of Yaris in India and there's no clue of the launch of the hatchback version any soon; which looks better though.

Looks and Design

In terms of looks, I don't like it. Doesn't matter in which angle I look at it, it doesn’t appeal to me as attractive. Some find it pretty and cool but, in my eyes, it is below average.

At the front, it has a snake-like face, a bit pointy, actually, with all thing pointing at the centre. From sides it's neither bad nor good but, with the small wheels, it looks a bit odd but, going to the back it manages to look ok.

She has good length and height but when it comes to width, it is small which for me feels like a bit bad proportion. From inside, it gets better; nice seats with good seating position not just in the front but also at the back, still when you look on the dashboard with their new design, what they are calling waterfall design; from some angle it looks good but from few other angles, it's not so good.

The quality of the interior could have been improved, everything is plastic and it doesn't give a good feel to touch. There is one great idea used in the cabin roof mount air vents, because of which there is no congestion for air vents below giving much better rear space. It has got a 4.5 inch TFT screen which is next to speedometer giving all information about car plus they have also given it a nice Yaris welcome logo. It has got a nice big touchscreen infotainment system with hand gesture control and Dolby system. It lacks apple car play and android auto. It has got front and rear parking sensor with rearview camera. It has got HSEA(IR cut) Acoustic and vibration control glasses giving the cabin cool and less noisy environment.

Safety

In this segment, this is the first car to be concentrating so much on the safety. It has got 7 airbags as standard and with all 4 wheels having disc brakes, which is a great thing as in India people don’t care much about safety, I don’t know why. It’s not just airbags, but also the ABS is standard. There is also EBD+BA which helps in breaking distributing different breaking at different wheels so that transfer of car weight can be proper without putting weight on just one side of wheels giving better stopping control. There is also tyre pressure sensing system which gives a warning if the tyre pressure is not right for all 4 wheels. It has got one more add-on which is VSC which is called as vehicle stability control system which helps in better controlling so that the car won’t lose control.

Performance

Let’s talk about the performance. It has only 1.5l petrol engine for version launched in India, producing 107 HP @ 6000 RPM and 140 NM of torque @ 4200 RPM which might sound good enough but it is not, in the competition it has lowest power output.
It has got nice low and mid-range power but she likes to be in nice steady pace, if you would try to push her hard you can even hear that roaring sound that says she doesn’t like it and she is underpowered. If you drive it nice with gentle throttle there are no issues and you will enjoy the refinement. In terms of dynamics, the chassis balance is nice and it can handle corners well. Still, the steering feedback is not that good. Breaking powers is good because of the help of all techs in the car. The ride quality is something you can feel and it is really good, and with body role controlled so well gives you confidence and high-speed stability.

Final verdict:

Looks and design: 6/10
Specs & features: 9/10
Dynamics & performance: 7/10
Safety & quality: 9/10

If you’re looking for safety, ride quality and tech, this is the car you should go for. It's really good on-road manners with all the safety features. But if you like rash driving and you love more horsepower and stunning looks, this is not the car for you.

Looks and Design

MV Agusta Brutale 800 is a grown-up bike. She looks stunning from all the angles you wish to look. It is a naked sports bike and, she can definitely be a head turner. This refreshed version is still a compact bike but still, 2 people can be easily seated on it.

New headlight is a bit better and even sharper curves and style on fuel tank give it an amazing look. The whole section below the rider seat really adds to the look even the cleverly designed rear fenders with the indicators are something to look on.

Once you look at it you want to see her again and again. Even when you sit on her, the wider handle and bigger tank make her look appealing. The digital instrument cluster is well designed and properly placed and everything is visible and can be easily accessed from the handlebar. The triple exhaust pipe looks really good and it sounds fantastic. Even the built quality is up to the mark.

Performance

Let’s talk about the performance now, which is the main thing you want to know when you buy a naked sports bike. Brutale 800 should have been given brutal 800/100 marks, she is a savage, especially, when it comes to acceleration.

It has got really good power and torque which is delivered from as low as 4000 rpm and full torque is available till 12000 rpm, giving it the required hard punch. It has got traction control system with 8 stage control and even different driving modes. When you are at lowest setting this bike will lift its front wheel both in 1st and 2nd gear. The breaks have really good power and bite to stop the bikes giving you the confidence to stop it and wheel also has good grip.

The dynamics of the bike is very addictive; the chassis balance and because of a small body the centre of gravity is also really good. All this makes of which changing direction is so easy and fun. The suspension is so firm with 3 ways adjustment, both in front and back adds to the sporty behaviour of the bike.

Even the slippers clutch with autoblipper is really good. In this segment, she is a best-naked sports bike you can have. But there are some things you must know before you buy it.

Yes! If we have a good amount of much money just for good looking bikes, we might buy it but this bike is not for starters. The accelerator is really so sensitive that driving below 30 kph can be very tough, even in slight response bike wants to accelerate hard. The suspension is too hard especially for Indian road conditions and because the seat’s cushion is so soft that you will hit the hard part every time making it uncomfortable. If you’re not professional you should stay away from riding her, she demands respect and concentration. Just a bit of disrespect or lack of concentration and she will rip you’re head off. She gets a bit upset when it comes to bumps in corners. Even in the softest setting, she is still not comfortable to ride on even a slightly bad road.

Final verdict:

Looks and design: 9/10
Specs & features: 7/10
Dynamics & performance: 9/10
Safety & quality: 8/10

If you have been driving sports bike for a long time and you really know how to drive it, you can buy it. But she is not meant for long distance touring either. If you are an immature and amateur please stay away from her, you don’t deserve her, and also if you don’t want to get injured.

G 63 AMG, they are also calling it G-REX. She has a real presence; if she is right there, you can't walk away without a second look. You may think there are few changes than the previous model in looks, but at least 90% of the car is new and you can feel it when seeing it.

With those 20 inch big fat tyres and muscular look even though it still has the boxy frame, those side exhausts make us keep looking at it even though there is not much change in looks from the generation 1.

It’s the interior that has changed the most, new two 12.5 inch screen same as that you can find in S class. The seats are much more comfortable and the seating position is much better than before, even the dashboard is also refined so well that you can find a bit of S class feel when you’re inside. Even the back seat has got more space than before & leg room might be just 1 inch more but it makes lots of difference. There was never a complaint about headroom. Inside the G-REX you can find the luxury the best Mercedes has to offer.

Performance
Let’s talk about performance. Even though when you're buying a big heavy off-road SUV, it’s not the first thing that comes to the mind. Even if it is a big heavy car, Mercedes has given her a 4 litre V8 with 2 turbos with so much power and torque that she can do 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 sec. For a car which is so big and even not aerodynamic became possible with AMG SPEED-SHIFT TCT 9-Speed Sports Transmission, and the sound is something which will blow ur mind and it will make you think you're in a sports cars it's so good.

She has got a new independent suspension in front, so now she has much better on-road behaviour, still, you will get body roll as it’s a big heavy car but you won’t get nervous. It has become comfortable to ride and performs better than before. Still hard to believe that king of off-road has become a decent on-road machine. It’s is one of the best off-roading cars there is in the market.

It has got 3 differential key using which you can choose 5 different options. It has also got driving modes to give you the better feel and dynamic behaviour. There are only a few cars on the market which can go further then her if they are going off-road.

If you have money to buy it and you want something big with a presence across the street when you drive it, you should go for it. it is lit for those who love long distance cruising and even in the rough and off road it is best for both with premium luxury feel.
