Looks and Design

Suzuki’s GSX R1000R superbike is here to blow everyone's mind. In looks and performance it’ll put down everyone and what all they have learned in MotoGP and on streets.

She really looks like the MotoGP bike, so much that you might think she has been lifted and brought straight to the street from MotoGP racing track, especially in the metallic triton blue with all those Suzuki racing vinyl.

From any angle you look at it, it feels like she is ready to burn some rubber on the racing tracks. GSX R1000R is slimmer than before, you might mistake it for R600 except for one part that is huge, which is the exhaust. The fuel tank is smaller, instead of 17 litres now it has got 16 litres and the position of the fuel tank is a bit lower than before giving the rider the freedom to move around comfortably.
The dashboard is well arranged giving all the information accurately. This time it has even got a fuel gauge, it is easy to access and even clearly visible in daylight.

Performance

Now let's talk about performance. This is what she is made for: performance, yes it is purely made for it, and it delivers. With 202 BHP @13,200 RPM and 117 torque @ 10,800 RPM which makes it the most powerful road-going engine ever made by Suzuki.

It's not just time and power what makes this engine so exciting, Suzuki has used its racing VVT system which is developed for MotoGP racing, because of which she can now rev to 14,000 RPM and, its not like power is not there, you will get power from low to mid to high at any given RPM power is always there just waiting for your throttle response and it will get you going like a missile.

It has even got better and lighter slipper clutch and bi-directional quick shifter which is like a treat over such a smooth linear and powerful engine. It has also got all new aluminium chassis which is lighter and stronger than before and giving her a better-balanced body.

The suspension is all new which is also been lifted from MotoGP racing technology In the front, 43MM SHOWA BALANCE FREE FRONT (BFF) FORKS and at the back SHOWA BALANCE FREE REAR CUSHION LITE (BFRC LITE) SHOCK giving this bike so much stability even while cornering at high speed on a bit bumpy track. Even the design is all new making it even more aerodynamic for which the front fairing has been maid 13 mm narrower reducing the drag coefficient.

It has also got Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU), which constantly monitors the bikes motion/movement on all 6 direction on all the 3 axis, all this information is used by braking system and traction control system, it has got 10 level traction control system which is really good and effective and, you can even change while riding but only when the throttle is closed.

The on road manners is really good, for a super bike it can even manage the rough sections of road really well. This is a bike which can be driven by anyone, with bike in right traction control and you can push it as hard as you can and, if you accidently push it too hard she will still be comfortable in your hand. It is really easy to drive her fast with all those power and torque band.

The body balance is so do transition from one side to other side is really easy and confidence inspiring and riding her on twisty road is so much fun. The best thing is the soundtrack, it is just a piece of art the sweat howling which is produced.

Seats are comfortable even for long distance but keep in mind it has just 16 liters so you will have many pit stops for refueling. It just that the dynamics compared the the competition is still a bit dull, when riding normally you will feel the wind and wind deflectors only works when you duck down on fuel tank. These are just minor negatives of this bike and nothing to be worried about.
