Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki, MV Agusta and Yamaha; what do these names have in common. Yes, boys, these are all sports bike company.
The world of super sports bikes is rapidly expanding, the race to be the fastest and the best is always on.
We have all heard about the Ducati, and if you have not, then just go away. Seriously bro, why?
Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. is the motorcycle-manufacturing division of Italian company Ducati, headquartered in Bologna, Italy.
The company is owned by German automotive manufacturer Audi through its Italian subsidiary Lamborghini, which is in turn owned by the Volkswagen Group. Oh gosh, everything is owned by Volkswagen!
Ducati is best known for high-performance motorcycles characterized by large-capacity four-stroke, 90° V-twin engines with a desmodromic valve design
Ducati refers to this configuration as L-twin because one cylinder is vertical, while the other is horizontal, making it look like a letter "L".

Ducati monster 797, Ducati’s entry-level monster and, its back to basics you can call it the baby monster. Just like the 1st monster which they made, you can say it is like a tribute.
Ducati monster now acts like a sub-brand, you don’t have to say it’s a Ducati monster, just by saying monster it’s enough to strike fear and, everyone will know what you are talking about.
The first impression of this bike by just looking at it will be like; boy it looks like a beast ready to tear up the road and destroy everyone around. They have tried to make it close to the 1st naked sports. It doesn’t mean it is not sporty enough, just by looking at it you can say it is ready to ravage all the roads ahead.
It has side-mounted back suspension which some might think is at the wrong place but, it well settled up, the triangular shaped back swing arm adds to the look. Big muscular fuel tank with bit down ducked headlamps add to the monster looks. From any angle you look at it, she is aggressively gorgeous, and I love the way she looks.

Performance
Let’s talk about the performance, even though it’s a monster the seating position is not that aggressive. Its bit between aggressive and relaxed which helps for the riders who like to cruise long distance, end even the seats are comfortable at any kind of road and off-road.
The seat is a bit high so, short riders might have to be on their toes when the bike is still, while you're the seat on it, it won’t affect your driving experience. Even the front suspensions are bit soft then normal giving you a comfortable ride and back suspension is 3 way adjustable.
An engine is same as you will find on scrambler, but it doesn’t mean there is no monster inside to tear everyone apart.

Somehow the engine in monster feels a bit more active then it feels in the scrambler. Still, there is not much punch in the monster, still a bit less than the least which is accepted by the monster. But engine response is smooth and linear and confidence-inducing and inspiring. Because of this, it lacks traction control system or different modes, you just have to get on it start your engine and get going.
This bike has even got Brembo breaks which have a really good bite. And chassis balance up to the mark what you look in a Ducati, which means you can corner with ease. still, they could have given it oil cooled instead of air cooled as in traffic and in hot areas you might feel it. You can say that it is the best entry level sports bike.
But on the highway when you start going above 80 kph you can feel wind pressure, it’s not much an issue as you can get in aggressive position but it can be a bit tiring especially for first-timers, so, I will recommend you to go for 797+ as it has got few additional accessories. And the monster is a bit low on sound in both you can hear it when you will be it but still it goes with touring feeling as it is a baby monster.
Price: 8,75,000 to 8,85,000 INR (ex-showroom)

Final verdict:
Looks and design: 9/10
Specs & features: 8/10
Dynamics & performance: 9/10
Safety & quality: 8/10
After-sale service: 7/10
Best suited for people who are new to the sports bike and looking for a bike with looks and power it is the best choice.
For short riders, if you can manage yourself on a red signal and in traffic go for it. And I will suggest you go for 797 +.
Still, as it is a monster I would have liked if it had lot more punch and more powerful sound.
